Flexible connectors made out of copper- and aluminium foils
Flexible connectors are flexible busbars made from copper or aluminium foils. The foils are press-welded using an induction process to create a compact, solid and homogeneous connection. In the case of aluminium connector, the connections are welded on using the inert gas welding process. Flexible connectors are used in busbar systems to compensate for expansion between individual busbars and switchgear, generators and transformers. They thus decouple the busbar system from shocks, vibrations and thermal expansion.
